There are many options to practice mountain climbing in the region, with ascents to summits with different difficulty levels, some of them are quite close to urban centers and others are farther away. A great attraction for all travelers is the ascent to the Villarica volcano crater at 2,947 m a.s.l., in which summit it is possible to watch the active crater, with a non-comparison view of lakes and other volcanoes.

There are areas as Conguillío, Lonquimay and Icalma, in the Andean area where the Pehuenche communities offer the opportunity to go by horse-riding. There are longer expeditions in Pucón and Curarrehue which include food and accommodation. There are also interesting circuits along the coast in Carahueand Puerto Saavedra, specialized in bird watching of existing species.

The Araucanía has an extensive network of trekking trails which offers circuits from 30 minutes to 7 days long. Through them it is possible to access the main nature attractions that include volcanoes, araucaria forests, lava fields, lakes and rivers.
The Sierra Nevada trail from the Conguillío National Park, Piedra del Águila from Nahuelbuta National Park and Villarrica Traverse from Villarrica National Park, take 5 days. The options are diverse and varied.

There are many routes to ride by pushbike, with different degrees of difficulty and demand, always in the middle of magnificent landscapes, such as lava valleys, river banks and native forests. Pucón and its whereabouts are recommended, as well as the trails in the Conguillío National Park and Ñielol hill in Temuco, places visited by these activities fans.
